Run under the auspices of the Leinster Branch of the Golfing Union of Ireland, The East of Ireland Championship is Leinster Golf’s flagship event. It is held annually over the Whit weekend at Baltray and dates back to 1941 when the inaugural winner was the late J B Carr (Sutton), the first Irishman to enter the World Golf Hall of Fame.
