Hole 8

A classic links hole in every sense. The fairway narrows considerably off the tee, and bunkers down the right at 230 and 277 yards test those tempted by the brave line. The small green is tightly protected by bunkers short left and to the front, making the approach shot every bit as demanding as the drive.
Resist the temptation of the brave line down the right. The two bunkers at 230 and 277 yards punish exactly that instinct. Play left of centre off the tee to open up the green, then take dead aim at the centre of the putting surface. The bunker short left is the one to avoid on the approach, as it leaves an awkward stance and a difficult angle.
